A belated post :D

Last saturday was her birthday. Bro-in-law cooked! Which means yay! haha
Not that I don't enjoy the food my mum cooks, just that she is afraid to explore new dishes, just those traditional hakka dishes.

Here we have lamb shoulder stew! He cooked with all those traditional spices! I liked it, very soft. You can easily part the meat from the bone. Exotic!

Stuffed chilli! Brushed with a layer of oyster sauce when served. I thought it would be spicy! It wasn't cause all the seeds were removed. Thumbs up!

Traditional "Chap choi" mixed vegetables. But this is more like brocolli, mushroom and shrimp.

Tofu and mushroom soup. Rawrness. This is heaven.

It's Black "Ops!" baybeh!

Went to visit my friend's game shop today. Had morning breakfast with a couple of friends; had a good one. Except for the drinks here! Teh-C Peng now costs Rm2.00! Inhumane to the max.

Anyway, my friend's shop is located in the so-called Merdeka Mall. Newly opened, only about 30%-40% of the shops were opened. Very little people.

The store! Beautifully decorated.

Black Ops: Been playing it almost the whole time. Graphic is amazing. Loading is fast. Much more efficient. One bad thing though, big bad thing - ANALOG.

Split-screen play. So Spy-plane function is pretty much redundant.

Played COD: Black Ops, Dragon Ball, NBA 2K11, and some other Kinect games. Very interesting I must say(refering to Kinect).

I will drop by quite often. By the time university starts again, I think I will become a Black Ops pro on X-Box. :p

Flight back was super bumpy. Luckily the lady sitting beside me did not throw up. I almost did (not because of the turbulence!).

I was very excited about this day at first, but not as it approaches, and finally happened. Some friends sent me off to the airport again. I really could not thank them enough.

The following 1 month and 3 weeks (approx-ly) I will be staying here. I must say, it's a drastic turn of events for me. It's not even the first day yet and I've already felt the effects.

Anyway, I will blog more about the changes here in my later post(s).

Back to the thing that almost made me threw up in the plane - This lady sitting beside me had serious dandruff problem. It was unbelievable. You could see the dandruff 20 feet away from her hair.

Button mushroom, challots, chicken, sausage, saute in olive oil. And of course, garlic powder, black pepper and salt.

Added the milk, simmer simmer simmer.

Added the tomatoes.

Ketchup.

Rotini.

Serve.

Should have use less pasta. More milk, and more ketchup (or tomato paste). Well, first time T_T
The only thing lacking was cheese =[
and a nicely decorated plate for serving. :p

Today's weather was bizarre. One moment it was quiet, moist and hot; the next moment you know, strong winds, heavy drops, breeze. And next, the wind stops and the drops fall vertically. First time.

Have not had rice for a very long time. Finally had some tonight when housemates invited me to join them buka puasa at the living room. Had to take some, with saffron chicken curry.

This no-rice thing seems to go pretty well.

Y'know, the best thing happened yesterday (just while I was expecting no more humanities in humankind, and that the world is coming to an end caused by natural disaster in the year 2012 LOL), which by the way I still do believe so.

Anyway, the other day I went to this grocery shop to photocopy the notes for my group, and I left my 'Easy-ironing' spray there. Surprisingly 1 week after, I went back (which was yesterday), the shopkeeper still kept the spray for me (which I previously bought from Giant). lols.

The best Indian shopkeeper I have ever encountered so far. Haha :D

I took my spray and ran off immediately after they told me they are not selling fire starters (for Keith's bbq).

Ok long story.

Just wanted to blog a little before I head to bed. Housemates still watching Bollywood movie at the living room; can't sleep.

That's what I would do whenever someone sneezes in front of me.

Been sick for almost 1 week already, or more. Couldn't remember exactly, so damn tired.

Came home from Keith's place, we had BBQ there to celebrate the birthday party for the two birthday boys, Keith and Suzuki. It was fun, the food was good, hospitality was good as well! :)

Had fun, awesome night. But tiring!

Showered, took cough medicine and was preapring for bed. Friends called for game. So I went to play, 4 or 5 matches? Drowsiness. Only 1 ended nicely, the rest are all remakes because the enemy players keep on leaving the game once they die.

Getting more drowsy and more drowsy.

Hope I will recover soon. I don't like being sick. Have to talk softly on the phone with mum, or else she would know that I have a hoarsy voice of some sort, that I must be sick or something. Grr, she knew.

after class today. Passed by that day to go to the printing shop, it was closed. Luckily it was opened today. It has the cheapest printing rate in town!

If I printed the notes there, I can get rate like 3cents per piece! But yea, it has to be over 1000 pieces.

Apparently now it has become University of Tunku Abdul Razak. They have posters and banners everywhere around LCS. Hmm, hope it's not true! The traffict at Taylor's is already bad enough!

The printing service there is good, the worker is friendly as well. Unlike the one I went at Sunway, man I had to arrange the papers myself because it was a small printing store! I waited for like 3 hours plus for that pile of craps.

They gave me 1 can of revive at the end. zzz

They miscalculated the money I should pay.

Slash concert was really awesome.

Some strange guy beside me during the concert said in the middle of the show "This is fucking epic man!"

I turned my heads over and saw two uncles, probably like 60? Unbuttoned shirt, sweaty, rocking and jumping just like when they were young! Haha

Epic moments.

People were drinking Jack Daniels before the show, 5 or 6 of them just drank the bottle away! It was such a cool sight. Only if alcohol is allowed during the concert, it will be the best!

We were all thirsty during the concert we thought we could die, Slash is just too much for us to take! Mainly because the vendors there were selling mineral water for Rm5 each. LOL. C'mon man it's a Slash concert, you can sell us beer!

After the show, we were freaking drained. The crowd slowly dispersed. We ran(literally) to Watson inside Pyramid to buy water. It was so cool.

Yayers, back to KL finally.
Funny thing, bumped into Miss T in Miri airport. We sat and chatted for an hour plus before we boarded the plane. Apparently, she was in Miri for one day. She likes it there! :)
She asked me "Man! Cruz, how can you cope with the living there in KL?!". *or something like that, couldn't remember exactly*

Damn it was raining very heavily and we wondered if they opened the airport tunnel for us so that we can board on the plane directly, without having to walk all the way out because it was raining very heavily!
Too bad they didn't, all the passengers had to walk to the plane, given an small umbrella. What, they make those umbrellas for little midgets? It was ridiculously small! Luckily I was wearing shorts; my luggage, bags, shoes are all wet!
The Airasia air-stewardess welcomed us at the back door of the plane, giving each of the passengers 2 pieces of tissues. At least they should give a napkin or a piece of small cloth. My god, I was freezing cold on the plane, and my feet are soaking wet!

That's my niece. She is one angry kid. Doesn't like me one bit. Very mean, very stubborn! I woke up; I went downstairs; she sees me; she makes angry noices and starts crying; *hokay*
Hope that she'll like me better the next time I go back, haha.

On the way back from LCCT to KL Sentral, some guy freaking slept and rested his head on my shoulder for some seconds before the bumpy bus ride woke him up again. Just depressing.

Reached KL Sentral around 930pm, had dinner at KFC. And then KTM home.

Dinner. Eyh, the chicken not bad. :p
Order the salad, just add Rm1 more and you get that amount of popcorn chicken. Man oh man, I'ma get more of those babies!

The next coming back will be during CNY, or maybe earlier if the uni holiday connects with CNY. Which is around november or december. Anyhow, I'm gonna miss this place. :D

Sunday in Miri

Woke up at 7am to prepare to go to breakfast with parents. Had mee hoon + chili sauce (all time favs!) and some dim sum. :D
Went to a pasar tani after that; it was packed and stinky.

Went to cousin's house at 11am to get ready the stuff for bbq later on. Around 12pm, we started out journey to the beach in Bekenu.
5 cars were hitting the road. Took us around 20-25 minutes to reach there, partly due to some waiting/delaying.

Got there and we all started to set up everything. Weeee, it was damn fun. Although I only know a couple of them @_@. Man I really like the way they talk here, haha. :)

Honestly I like the life here, I don't have to spend a lot of my dad's money. Everything's pretty much covered, transport, food, entertainment :)
Things are different here; I like it, though not as fancy.
Nice people, true, happy, simple.

Good and bad equally much.
You live a very stressful live out there by yourself.

Yup, it's sweet, filled with milk taste. Red bean is awesome! Specially soft and sweet!

Started the day when Nick and Joan picked me up at my place.

Nick, Joan, Kent, Sho, Sean, Yi-Vonne sent me to LCCT. First time my friends sending me off :D

Met up with parents, uncles, aunts, and cousins at the airport.

Everything starts to slow down the moment I met them :)

I never pee in an airplane toilet until just now, not a good experience though.

Didn't notice the puke in the basin until I smell something funny.

Yup, and I had to wash my hand in that basin.

Well forget about the puke, the flight was fine. My first night flight, I think.

Bro-in-law picked us up at the Miri airport, and bought us kolo mee for supper. :)

Hello awful little-tune. Gosh I've abandoned my blog before my last batch of assignments kicked in. Now it's been a week since everything's finished.

Went to Malacca with the wonderful people yesterday.
Alphabetical order: Alison, Jian Tyng, Joan, Kent, Philip, Jasmine, Wei Wen.

Tired trip, but fun and nice. Probably just once in a lifetime. Yup, definitely once in a lifetime. Sometimes it's not about the place, it's about the people. Appreciate them! :D

The whole place turned into a cybercafe as soon as the games started. You hear screams, yells, taunts, and stuff. Hahaaa

They have one thing the Lakeside campus has also. A lake.

The Library Talent show has finally come to a fullstop for IcedTea. I didn't put much hope in winning the competition, maybe cause of all the other strong competitors and also our level of abilities, but we hell sure did put in all of our efforts. Important thing is we learn.

Came to an agreement that there will be no more events/performances/competitions for IcedTea before the wedding performance of Suzuki's boss in October.

We could use this period of time to improve ourselves- skills, teamwork, teamspirit, et cetera.

Gosh seeing the other bands perform, I feel like my guitar skill is just at the basics level. Because I'm too young? No. Because I lack commitment? No.

Anyway, IcedTea had fun tonight with all the loves and support from the wonderful friends and families. Thanks again everyone.

Got a flight to catch early tomorrow morning. Good thing the airport is just 5 minutes away from my house.

Internet connection problem

For the pass few days all I see was 'limited connection', 'local only', 'Diagnose', 'Unable to reach server', 'Unable to indentify DNS', 'Please contact your ISP'.

I called TM 3 times, yet problem not solved.

As soon as Sean dropped me and Park at the entrance, I walked in.
I saw 1 Nigerian arguing with 2 security guards nearby the entrance.

N *pointing at his bleeding head* :" You see what your security guards have done to me?!"

S *ignoring, calling for "back-ups" via the walkie-talkie, while standing infront of the N's car, not letting him to "escape".

The next second, 2 security guards arrived riding a motocycle. 1 came down, started to kick the door of N's car while N was trying to get in and drive away. The S hurled his knuckle to N.
*meantime, more S(s) came.*

N was stuck because the S(s) won't let his car pass the gate. All the S(s) started to bash up N's car.
N reversed.
1 S picked up a brick, and threw it to N's windshield.

...I walked away.

Classes today were okay. PR class was surprisingly more interesting than I thought it would be.
As for CRR, it was pretty brief.
Went for dagei.
Oh man, lifeless? no.

Ok, back to the title.
As soon as I reached home, grabbed some chips from the grocery shop.
Shower, laundry, then sat myself down to enjoy 5 and a half hours of wrestling (4 hours from Wrestlemania and 1 hour and a half from Raw).

Towards the end, I wept.
Then I went along to watch Raw. I wept as well, towards the end.

The last time I cried was also during watching wrestling. It was Ric Flair's retirement. I didn't really admire that man as a wrestler, but I shed my tears for the respect the crowd, the wrestlers, and his family, had shown for him that night.

The bizarre feeling struck me hard when I realised that :" Oh, this is not part of the storyline. Shawn is really retiring."
One day he is still kicking someone's teeth away, and now he's retired.
The crowd chanted for him; some cried; some cried bad.
Me? like a baby.

Thank you Shawn.
You will be missed.

I write lyrics and fix them up with nice melodies. Things always terminate half way before they are finished. Most of the time it's because I cannot come up with meaningful lyrics. Sometimes the words are sophisticated, but turn out the song just doens't mean anything, or bring out any messages.

Need more ups and downs in life in order to write better, influencial music.

My vision broadens

Today(yesterday) was filled with mixed fillings. Not all are bad, not all are good.
Well today was the Big Day, capital B and capital D.
Talent-lah competition Finals. We reached there early for the sound check, set-ups and everything.
Honestly, I didn't think that our band stands much of a chance to win. Maybe I was being... uncertain about Us. Plus, the other performers were Mind-Blowing. Anyway as it turns out, we won.
I am happy for the band and most importantly Kent. His first ever stage-presentable(according to himself :D) song won the gold! Proud of him, and the rest of the band as well.
Nicholas, Joanna, Carmen, Lyon and Sean, I really wanna thank you all for making the effort to be there to support us. We learned your spirits!

Anyway,
Something bizarre happened at 1:15am just now, right after Kent dropped Sean and Lyon to their car at Esso petrol station. The radio station played the song Need You Now, which stirred my mixed feelings even more. Cause' you know, the chorus of the song. LOL
I think the radio station purposely arranged that song to be played at that particular time.

Asks my heart:" Huh, who do you miss, really?"

I haven't realise yet until then...
I have done a lot of bad things to myself, irresponsible things.

That includes overly self-indulging, in quite many ways.
Gaming is one, dieting is one, time managing is one.
I need to care about myself more; which I can't be lazy to do so anymore!

It would take me at least two hours to get into sleep for the past couple of weeks. Roll around my bed and once in a while glance at my phone clock. Asking myself why couldn't I just sleep? It's freaking 5 hours left before I have to wake up and prepare for college! And sometime when you're just about to fall into sleep, your housemates walk in the house(in the middle of the night), and start to chatter like nobody's business(their language buzzes me, just), turn on the TV, and you start to hear the constant buzzing TV transmissional sound.
I could use some pills. haha

Anyway, I hope dad will be fine.

Things I miss doing the most during childhood

I came across this question in Facebook interview and it popped in my head so much of memories.

The previous time I went back to Miri was for CNY. I wanted to gather all the cousins up and pay a visit to our grandparents old house we used to call 'Tukau'. Truth is, grandparents have passed years ago. As for the house, it was intentionally burnt down by some god-knows-who out there years before that.

When we were young and small, visits to grandpa's house were fun. Of course I was only what, like 7, 8 or 10 years old.
During weekends we cousins usually gather up and be there by the afternoon. The grown ups will do their stuffs, tidy up the house, preparing lunch; while the kids will be out there catching grasshoppers, or at the backyard(which was a huge, deep and endless jungle) playing. Grandpa's house was basically located in the middle of a jungle.

Grandma always had tea in the kettle in the kitchen, which I didn't like back then. Grandpa will always have carbonated Sarsi drinks under his bed. If you are lucky, he will offer you a can.

On the desk you can see calenders piling up, pieces by pieces. The kids will take these old, yellowish calenders that grandma removes from the calender on the wall every morning, and use them to make paper flights. We will make as many as we can, head up to the balcony, and see whose flight can fly the furthest.

I miss that place; I miss grandpa

My god, I miss my Miri bed so so much, although it wasn't the same old bed that I used to sleep on when I was younger. My feet were unsupported by the bed cause it became too small for me.

CNY celebration was amazing, in a totally different way.
We used to love playing firecrackers, chasing after lion dancers, fooling around in the house during CNY. But now, things have changed. I noticed that my younger cousins now do that I did when I was young. I miss that joyous feeling though.

A few cans of beer, a table of friends&relatives, and a deck of card.
Gosh I am so burned out of all those gamblings. Haha.
Didn't win much. Fun.

Went to have a quick shopping in Pyramid this afternoon. Bought a shirt, a tee, 2 pair of boxers, and a pair of jeans. Costed me Rm300+ all together. Ai yorrrrrrrrr....... wallet bled again lar.
Wanted to buy another jacket, but ran out of budget.

Was playing guitar half way just now until my brother called me saying that he will be reaching my place soon. I quickly packed up my stuffs, then walked down to the car.

Gonna spend the night in brother's house. Tomorrow we will go to Klang and have breakfast. Afterthat we will head to KLIA for the flight to Miri at 12:15pm. Can't wait to go back; also I will miss all my friends here, big time.

English used to be my favourite subject. They are friendly, familiar, easy, and flexible.
I wish I could say the same in college.
Doing the ECS paper was effortful! 3 reading passages and 2 writtings for crying out loud!
'You have 5 minutes left.' - while I was still working on the conclusion. Barely enough time to complete the whole thing.
Well I understood that I wrote the wrong essay format this time; but well opinion essays are quite flexible aren't they? :p
God stand by me. XD

I've been eating a lot. When was the last time I exercise my body? hmmm.... seems like a long long time ago.

This is bad, I am indulging myself in a bad eating habit.
Eating 2 times a day, sometime only once. But everytime I eat a lot, I mean A LOT!
Watching PPStream while eating didn't help the digestion.
Sleeping 20 minutes after meal certainly leaves my belly no mercy. HAHAHAHA
Worst enemy - tremendous amount of carbohydrates. Oh ouu, starting to feel depressed. Haha

It was an awesome night, well too bad Keith ran a little late

There were 13 of us, and we spent Rm250+ on our food and drinks. Before we leave, we got a whole chocolate cake and a cup of mint grean tea, on the house.
